Daniel P Wright is a retired veteran living in St Petersburg, Florida. I grew up in a town called Newfane in Western NY. I quickly departed Newfane for college, and then quickly departed college for the East Village in NYC. After several fun years I decided to join the Navy, for romantic notions and as a way to afford college after my enlistment. I was serving on a submarine in Pearl Harbor when I met with misfortune. I then spent a few years in the VA and in a nursing home. I was able to escape one night after bed check and traveled the railroad south to freedom. I’ve lived on my own for 14 years now, and though I have some medical issues which sometimes question my will to live, I am both incredibly happy and fortunate. I started drawing around eight years ago; I never learned to write after my injury. I became a skilled charcoal artist, but I really do not like drawing. I still cannot write. Around that same time I took up Kite Aerial Photography, aka KAP. Which is simply suspending a camera from a kite string and using radio controls to pan/tilt and press the shutter button on the camera I have since moved on. I’m working at improving my sculpting skills so I could one day call myself a sculptor. I now have an amazing telescope with both still photo and video imaging capabilities. Astrophotography/video will soon find its way to my website. When I’m not pursuing those two passions, I’m working on finishing my B.A. in History at USF. I aM also disabled, I am a quadriplegic.
